| Statement in connection with celebration of S. Bandera’s birthday in Ukraine |
January 1 for Ukrainian nationalists is not just and not so much first day of New Year as a great holiday – birthday of their idol Stepan Bandera. On January 1, 2013 they marked 104th anniversary of S. Bandera’s birthday.
Annually this day becomes a day of demonstration of nationalistic spirit in Ukraine but late 2012 gave much more weight to their performances. Among other parties a big group of representatives of “Freedom” party passed to the Supreme Rada for the first time; more than 10% of electors voted for it, and it got 25 seats. This is the very party that is most radical stronghold of nationalism in Ukraine, and it is well-known by its extremely anti-Russian and anti-Semitic position in correspondence with traditional hatred of Ukrainian nationalists towards “yids” and “Muscovites”.

| Statement in connection with riot of prisoners in the colony of Kopeysk town |
During several days attention of press was riveted on events in the colony of Kopeysk town (Chelyabinsk region). Riots in prisons and colonies are not a rare thing in our country but events in Kopeysk became widely known also because they touched upon hundreds people outside the colony. And no doubt riot in Kopeysk exceeds the scope of usual prison “turmoil” both in the character of events and in their consequences.
Version of prisoners themselves, their relatives and human rights activists on one hand and that of colony administration on the other hand differ sharply.

So-called “Russian march” has taken place – it was the seventh one. For the first time, with permission of authorities, it took place not in “dormitory” Lyublino but in the center of Moscow. Two symbolic events reflected the essence of this performance. At the beginning of action police detained approximately 25 young men who duded up in black uniform with swastika. At the end – a group of neo-Nazis used their numerical superiority and attacked young anti-fascists who were going to their own meeting. A scuffle took place. According to some evidences, there are severely injured people available as a result of the scuffle: one of scuffle participants was thrown down to rails, another one has serious traumas of his head, and slightly injured people are also available. Approximately 15 thousand people participated in Moscow “Russian march” according to “Moskovsky komsomolets” newspaper. “10 thousand at least”, “Komsomolskaya Pravda” agrees. It should be noted that the reporters who attended the place of events inform about this. And according to police data, there were about 6 thousand participants, and this “corresponds” to maximal action quantity authorized by authorities.
